We know that young people and families have different preferences and needs when it comes to worship and services so we have some different initiatives running in each church.
Messy Church (for the whole family from 0-90+)
Messy Church is a form of church for children and adults that involves creativity, celebration and song. It always includes a welcome, with loud and active songs, followed by messy, creative activities that explore a biblical theme – definitely no colouring sheets here! We pray and meditate together, have interactive stories which include music, drama and games. At the end of the messy service we return to the church where a parallel service is running and we all sing ‘we are a church’ together and share our creations and ideas with the congregation. Messy church is for the whole family, everything we do is suitable for people of all ages.

Sunday School (ages 5-13 years)
Our Sunday School runs at Ickleton and follows yearly themes where we explore different aspects of Christian life whether they be spiritual, Biblical or social. Catering for a wide range of ages, we have multiple different activities running in parallel that follow a story which is shared with everyone. It’s a dynamic and flexible environment where we let the children drive the agenda through their questions arising from our topic.
We start our session in church and leave after the first hymn, returning in time to sing the last hymn with everyone and share what we have done.

Youth Group (over 9s) – Food for Thought
As our children grow into young people they want to engage and explore with Christianity in a more discursive way. We have a youth group for our young people which we are currently extending . To keep up to date with our progress in this dynamic area check out our young persons blog page.
