Ickleton Fashion Show raises over £1500 for church funds

You’ve seen all the hype; been bombarded with the posters and posts and now here’s the result….a fantastic £1544 raised by the fashion show.

As well as the money, which will help us maintain our range of worship and community activities, this event also showed the great support and fellowship within the village. It was made possible by the commitment of a range of people – Glynis Hammond who organised everything, Jan Livingstone our creative director and fashion adviser, Anne-Marie Hoare the wonder networker who mobilised so many helpers, Helen Royce who managed all the money and did huge amounts of clothes sorting and Jeff Merrells and Roy Smith who manned the bar – well someone has to.

The whole event was transformed by the fabulous lighting and it’s Ray Olds who made that happen for us and we are so, so grateful.

Our eloquent compare, Patrick Bloomfield, commanded the stage and kept the fun going but the stars of the show were our models, the local people who stepped out of their comfort zones to elegantly strutted their stuff and inspired the rest of us.

There were many other helpers and volunteers, from Sara Mila on sound to our back stage crew of dressers.

Thank you all – it really was the ‘must do’ event of the year!
